Now let me clarify: I need a role-model.
I'm not lost, I'm not without hope. Don't be misled by my request. I am looking for a woman - to look up to. Someone who can prove that we aren't ALL lost causes, despite the nonsense that many, if not most, women seem to perpetuate on a daily basis. Who's 'out there', as far as women are concerned? Who do we hear about? Lohan? Spears? Richie? Reid? Simpson? Come on. Even Hillary Duff has become someone to roll my eyes at for ever-so-slight slutty tendencies - and BEFORE I had to roll my eyes at her for being an annoying child! What is this??
There is hope. I've found a couple women who are worth my admiration and time. Allow me to make note of:
Rosalind Franklin
Simone de Beauvoir
Ada Lovelace
Mary Somerville
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
George Sand
But, why, I ask, are all the women I admire dead, when women have only been truly liberated for, historically speaking, a short while?
